Meet Freya & Chip

Freya and Chip are a gorgeous bonded pair rabbits looking for a forever home where they will be cherished for the rest of their lives.

Sadly, this isn’t their first time with us. They were originally surrendered because their owners said they no longer had time for them. After spending over a year in a new home, they have now been returned to the sanctuary again for the same reason. These two have experienced more upheaval than any rabbits should.

When Freya & Chip first arrived, they were significantly overweight. With the right diet and plenty of encouragement to exercise, they reached a much healthier weight. Unfortunately, they have come back to us even heavier than before, so they are once again on a carefully managed diet and exercise plan. They are already making great progress and deserve a home that will help them stay happy and healthy.

Despite everything, they remain wonderful rabbits with lovely personalities. Chip is the most bashful of the two and absolutely melts for a gentle fuss and a stroke once he trusts you. Freya enjoys attention too, but she’s very much a lady who likes affection on her own terms! They are both inquisitive, and are happiest when they’re together snuggled up side by side.

Chip and Freya share a beautiful bond, so they must be adopted as a pair. They are looking for a home where they will be understood, cared for properly, and never have to face another move.

The adoption process

Application
If you see an animal on our website that you are interested in adopting, you should fill out an Animal Enquiry form. This gives us more details about yourself and your lifestyle to make sure you are a good match for each other. If we get multiple requests for one animal, we will consider them all and choose the most suitable home to match it to a new owner. This will allow everyone interested a fair chance of adopting it
First meeting
If your application is successful, we will invite you for a first meeting. Here, you and the animal will meet each other and see how you get along. Following on from this, there may be more meetings and you can introduce other pets as required.
Home checks
Home checks are required for every dog before we set the adoption date. This was done physically pre-Covid but we now ask for videos and photos. We need to be sure the home environment is suitable for that dog and the garden is secure. If dogs/rabbits are going to live with other dogs/rabbits, we will arrange an introduction as previously mentioned.
Keep in touch
Every adoption is as unique as each animal. Please remember although sometimes it might seem like a lengthy process, we are doing this to make sure each animal is found the right home for their lifetime.
