Drop Off Donations

Did you know that Thornberry has several charity shops on site? All sales go directly towards our work as a charity. The stock from our shops comes from items the general public donate to us, from clothes to household items.

We are so appreciative of all the donations that contribute to our charity shops. The items kindly donated and sold in our shops enable us to raise money that directly funds the vital work that Thornberry does for animals across the region. We can even claim gift aid on your donation if you are a UK tax payer! Please see table below for donations we can and cannot accept. Please note that all donations must be in a sellable condition.

Donations we Can and Cannot accept

How to donate and donation hours

Please bring your pre-loved items to our Todwick road site between 11am and 3pm, Fridays to Sundays. We are unable to accept donations on Monday-Wednesday, except for donations for our animals. We several shopping trolleys on site that we use to transport donations to our storage barn; please place all donations in these if possible. If you need assistance, a member of our team will be on hand to help out.

Please do not leave donations outside
if a Thornberry staff member or volunteer is not available to help:

While we appreciate donations so much, it is so important to donate in a safe and kind way; we are unable to take certain items and by leaving these outside our shop, we are left to dispose of them ourselves. Also, during bad weather, there’s nowhere to safely store your donations under shelter and we’d hate for them to get wet and ruined.

What we need:

There are always items that we desperately need, and this can often change from month to month. However, we are always in need of animal food, treats and bedding (but not feather duvets or pillows).

We also have an Amazon Wishlist. We update it regularly, if you are able to support us this way. Please note that animal food donations must be unopened.
