Meet Peppa

Peppa is a beautiful long-haired lady searching for a dedicated human to call her own. After spending all of her life on the streets as a semi-feral cat and having litter after litter of babies, Peppa has finally retired from motherhood and is looking to be taken care of by a patient person who can understand her traumatic past. Peppa is quite a timid girl that will need plenty of time, patience and positivity in order for her to come out of her little shell. Peppa is simply used to being a street cat, unsure of when her next meal will be and being constantly pestered by tom cats – she has never truly known what it is to be loved and cared for by her own human. That is until a lovely foster lady took her in until we had a place for her here at Thornberry. Peppa has been described as a lovely cat within the home but needs an abundance of time to settle in before she shows her true colours. This girl therefore needs an experienced cat owner who is willing to give Peppa all the time she needs before she can flourish as an independent queen. Peppa will definately need access to a garden after an extended period settling inside the home and would prefer an adult only household. If you would like to give this gorgeous girl a chance at a happy life then please enquire.

The adoption process

If you see an animal on our website that you are interested in adopting, you should fill out an Animal Enquiry form. This gives us more details about yourself and your lifestyle to make sure you are a good match for each other. If we get multiple requests for one animal, we will consider them all and choose the most suitable home to match it to a new owner. This will allow everyone interested a fair chance of adopting it
First meeting
If your application is successful, we will invite you for a first meeting. Here, you and the animal will meet each other and see how you get along. Following on from this, there may be more meetings and you can introduce other pets as required.
Home checks
Home checks are required for every dog before we set the adoption date. This was done physically pre-Covid but we now ask for videos and photos. We need to be sure the home environment is suitable for that dog and the garden is secure. If dogs/rabbits are going to live with other dogs/rabbits, we will arrange an introduction as previously mentioned.
Keep in touch
Every adoption is as unique as each animal. Please remember although sometimes it might seem like a lengthy process, we are doing this to make sure each animal is found the right home for their lifetime.
